BEST ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
It's not what you do, but why you do it. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE YOUR BUSINESS? When working in Bridal stores in Brisbane and Melbourne, I was always asking the Mother of the Bride about her own bridal shopping experience. I quickly picked up on a trend that was popular in the 80s, where brides would hire a wedding dress instead of purchasing. Today bridal shopping has become more sustainable by the minute. There are multiple shopping platforms where you can hire a cocktail or bridesmaid dress for an event, so I was inspired to create a new take on this concept for the Bridal industry. Connecting the modern bride with luxury bridal options and changing the way we shop for a wedding dress. |

Pieces that are of the highest quality. Classic in cut, offer a beautiful or unique fabric and speak the language of love. 
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR A BRIDE LOOKING FOR HER DREAM DRESS?
I encourage you to have fun with the experience! It may sound silly, but it's valuable to try on wedding dresses that may be different to your normal everyday style. When you are ready to decide, go with your gut instinct and think about what dress you can't live without?! |
WHERE DID THE NAME BESSETTE COME FROM?
Bessette was named after New York socialite Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. Carolyn was the epitome of New York chic in the 1990s and unified her status in the fashion industry when she married John F Kennedy Jnr in a most memorable bias cut silk gown by Narisco Rodriguez. Carolyn effortlessly embodied grace, style and set the standard in what was nineties cool. She was always seen wearing high end designer labels but had so much more to her too. She was sweetly raw as well as grounded; and owned her authentic 'New York" accent. I saw these as redeeming and relatable qualities to the Bessette bride: Being graceful but grounded.
